A couple weeks ago, we attended a wedding. Full disclosure, I've gained a bit of weight since finishing chemo and so I was worried that the majority of my dresses would not fit me, so I was on the hunt for the perfect Fall wedding guest dress when I came across this little number from Urban Outfitters.

It was practically perfect in every way. The midi length and sleeves are great for a little extra warmth as the weather starts to cool down. The color was a beautiful shade of bordeaux, and I loved the plunging neckline and front slit. I'm convinced this dress would look matronly without these two key features.

If you're on the lookout for a wedding guest dress for this time of year, there are several factors to consider: time of day, location of the wedding, indoor/outdoor ceremony and reception. For us Southern Californians, it's still been pretty warm, so something a bit lighter with a jacket or coat in case it get's chilly is ideal. I personally love the way a feminine dress looks paired with a more masculine jacket, like a blazer.
